Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has said that Pakistan’s sea food exports have risen to $568 million, which are the highest in the country’s history, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The minister has said that reforms in the blue economy have resulted in a considerable increase in sea food exports.
He has informed that the sea food item that has been exported the most is frozen fish.
Chaudhry has said that despite regional challenges, record increase in the exports of sea food items has been witnessed. “Services rendered by Dr. Mansoor Wassan and members of his team are commendable,” the minister has said, adding that the government is concentrating on value addition and new markets.
He has said that congratulations to all the stakeholders on this unprecedented achievement.
