Pakistan’s industrial production witnessed a 1.5 percent decrease in the fiscal year 2024-25, according to the Economic Survey of Pakistan.
The Economic Survey says that Pakistan’s chemicals industry produced 5.5 percent less chemicals compared to the last fiscal year. In the mines and minerals section, Pakistan’s production decreased by 3.4 percent in the outgoing fiscal year. In the food sector, Pakistan saw a decrease of 0.5 percent in production.
However, the services sector of Pakistan witnessed an increase of 2.91 percent. The services sector continues to remain the backbone of the GDP as its share stands at 58.40 percent.
Pakistan’s industrial section recorded a 4.77 percent increase in the outgoing fiscal year and this increase was attributed to revival of the manufacturing sector.
In fiscal year 2024-25, Pakistan recorded an increase of 13.8 percent in the investment sector, while the textile sector recorded an increase of 2.2 percent. The hosiery sector of Pakistan saw a 7.6 percent growth in the ongoing fiscal year while the petroleum sector recorded a growth of 4.5 percent. Pakistan’s pharmaceuticals sector recorded a growth of 2.3 percent.
