Hollywood actress Salma Hayek took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute marking the 25th anniversary of the cult classic film Dogma, in which she played the role of Serendipity, a muse-turned-stripper with a sharp wit and chaotic charm.

Reflecting on the milestone, Hayek wrote, “It’s been 25 years since Dogma hit theatres – and what a wild, unforgettable ride it was. Playing Serendipity was a gift I’ll always treasure: a character full of fire, wit, and chaos in the best way.”

She also expressed her gratitude to director Kevin Smith for casting her in the one-of-a-kind 1999 fantasy comedy, and gave a shout-out to her co-stars including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Chris Rock, and the late Alan Rickman, whom she called “irreplaceable.”

Hayek shared shots from the film, which has recently returned to select theatres for a limited-time screening.

“From yesterday, Dogma is back on the big screen… and I still can’t believe I was part of something so bold,” she added.

Released in 1999, Dogma blends theology with satire in a story about two fallen angels trying to exploit a loophole to return to Heaven, starring Affleck and Damon in lead roles.
