A 15-year-old Hindu girl kidnapped from Rawalpindi has been safely recovered from Haripur in an operation carried out by Murree police, officials said.
According to police, the kidnapped girl was rescued within 24 hours of the incident through swift action by Murree police. The girl belonged to the Hindu community and her safe recovery was described as a major challenge by the District Police Officer (DPO).
Special teams were formed under the supervision of senior officers to trace and recover the kidnapped girl. Police utilized all available resources, including CCTV footage, geo-fencing and human intelligence to ensure her safe recovery.
The DPO said the success of the operation was achieved due to timely information provided by the parents and the immediate response of the police. He added that the rescued girl would be produced before the court in accordance with legal requirements.
The DPO stated that the safe recovery of the girl reflects the professional skills and effective investigative capabilities of Murree police. He thanked Haripur police for their cooperation in the operation.
