The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has intensified its crackdown on leaders of the banned Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee, announcing rewards of Rs10 million each for information leading to the arrest of four wanted individuals.
According to an announcement issued by the Home Department, with the approval of the prime minister and home minister of AJK, rewards have been announced for the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Omar Nazir Kashmiri, Khawaja Mehran, and Sardar Aman.
Authorities said the four individuals are wanted by law enforcement agencies and appealed to the public to assist in their arrest.
The Home Department assured citizens that the identities of individuals providing information would be kept strictly confidential.
The announcement comes amid an ongoing campaign by authorities to maintain law and order in the region following recent unrest in parts of Azad Kashmir.
Officials said strict measures were being implemented across the state and reiterated the government's zero-tolerance policy toward banned organisations and activities deemed unlawful.
"The rule of law will be ensured at all costs," the Home Department said, adding that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in creating disorder or inciting unrest.
The government urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any information that could assist in apprehending the wanted individuals.
The allegations against the named individuals remain subject to legal proceedings and investigation by the relevant authorities.
