A young man who had recently returned from Dubai was allegedly murdered by his friends in Pasrur, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.
According to to police and family members, the victim, identified as Muhammad Furqan, a resident of Talwandi Bhindran, had arrived in Pakistan from Dubai three days ago.
Police said Furqan's body was later found in a deserted area near Tayyab Bhatta village.
An FIR has been registered at Qila Kalar Wala police station, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.
According to the FIR, some friends had taken Furqan from his home before allegedly killing him and dumping his body in the remote area.
Police officials said the motive behind the murder has not yet been determined and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
