The date of the federal budget for the next financial year, 2026-27, which was due to be presented on June 10, has once again been changed as now it will be "presented" on June 12, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs had sent a summary to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which June 12 had been mentioned as a new date for the presentation of the budget.
Meanwhile, members of the National Assembly belonging to the ruling coalition have been directed to reach Islamabad by Thursday.
According to sources, the budget discussion would also be kept short.
The government has decided to complete all stages of budget approval within a week.
Officials stated that the government aimed to ensure the budget was approved before Muharram.
