Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday met outgoing Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Marlena Armelin and appreciated her efforts in promoting relations between Pakistan and Italy during her diplomatic tenure.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar congratulated the ambassador on the successful completion of her assignment in Pakistan and commended her services in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the deputy prime minister noted that collaboration between the two countries in the areas of trade, investment, education and labour mobility had continued to expand in recent years.
He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations and deepening cooperation with Italy across various sectors.
The Italian ambassador thanked Dar for his support and cooperation during her stay in Pakistan and expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved in bilateral relations.
She welcomed the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Italy ties and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow.
Dar also conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Armelin for her future professional endeavours and success in her upcoming assignments.
