Traffic police in Lahore have arrested a motorcyclist who is a defaulter of e-challans worth Rs2.80 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Serazi said that a citizen namely Baz Mohammad, is a defaulter of 1,500 e-challans. He said that 421 vehicles, including rickshaws and motorcycles, are registered in the defaulter’s name.
The CTO said that police personnel intercepted the motorcycle at a general hold-up. During checking, it was revealed that Baz Mohammad is a defaulter of Rs2.80 million.
Later, the police locked the motorcycle inside the police station in Muslim Town.
Abdul Rahim Sherazi said that 100,000 vehicles and motorcycles were blacklisted due to non-payment of challan fines.
CTO Abdul Rahim Sherazi said that traffic police personnel are ensuring payment of e-challans through OneApp on a daily basis.
