Pakistani student Musa Hiraj has been elected as the President of the Oxford University Student Union, marking another proud moment for Pakistan on the global academic stage, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
Musa Hiraj is the son of former Federal Minister Muhammad Raza Hayat Hiraj and has now joined the ranks of Pakistanis who have led this prestigious institution.

Benazir Bhutto (former Prime Minister of Pakistan)—first Pakistani to hold the post in the 20th century.
Ahmad Nawaz (APS Peshawar Attack Survivor): Became President in 2022.
Israr Khan Kakar—elected in 2024. Israr Khan told the media that he was born in Gulistan, Kila Abdullah, a remote village in Balochistan on the Pak-Afghan border. He said, “My early education began in a shaky one-room building in my village, a modest start that reflected the broader limitations of our community. However, my life took a pivotal turn thanks to the unwavering commitment and dedication of my brother, Akhtar Kakar.”

Ahmad Nawaz, who survived the APS Peshawar terrorist attack, had moved to the UK in 2014 and later won the Oxford Union presidency in 2022. After assuming office, he pledged to bring world leaders to debate critical global issues and empower youth through the platform.
