American actor and producer Tom Cruise, recognized as one of Hollywood’s biggest and most bankable stars for over four decades made a rare award show appearance at the 53rd Saturn Awards in Los Angeles.
The Hollywood star mingled with fellow nominees and presented a major honor during the ceremony.
According to reports, Tom Cruise attended the event held at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles, joining a number of prominent stars including Elle Fanning and Rhea Seehorn.
The 63-year-old actor looked sharp in a navy suit paired with a crisp white shirt as he greeted guests and posed for photos during the ceremony.
During the event, Cruise presented the Visionary Award to filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, the Oscar-winning director behind several films in the popular Mission: Impossible franchise.
Meanwhile, Fanning celebrated a big win at the ceremony after taking home the Best Actress in a Film award for her performance in the science-fiction movie Predator: Badlands.
The event, which celebrates achievements in science fiction, fantasy and horror storytelling, also drew appearances from stars such as Denise Richards and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.
Other honors at the ceremony included a special award presented to George Lucas, while the long-running Star Trek franchise was inducted into the Saturn Hall of Fame.
Hosted by Joel McHale, the Saturn Awards have celebrated achievements in genre entertainment since 1972 and remain one of the most prominent events dedicated to science-fiction and fantasy storytelling.
