Relatives of a dead Adiala inmate took to the streets against the administration, alleging the officials are involved in the organ trade.
However, the jail admin denied any wrongdoing, saying the cause of death is the coronavirus.
The inmate was taken to hospital as he complained about an ailment, the jail admin said.
The demonstrators raised the demand for an impartial inquiry into the death.
Police have been called at the local vegetable market where scores of relatives of the deceased staged the protest.
