In a resounding victory that left Indian fans stunned, Pakistan crushed arch-rivals India in the Asian Beach Handball Championship, sealing their spot in the quarterfinals and delivering India's worst-ever defeat in the tournament’s history.
Played in Oman, the match saw Pakistan dominate from the outset, winning both sets in commanding fashion. The first set ended 35-6 in favour of Pakistan, while the second was an even bigger humiliation for India, who went down 37-7.
Sources at the venue revealed that Indian players appeared demoralised and attempted to block live video and media coverage after their heavy loss. Reportedly, Indian team members expressed grievances, alleging that their government had initially pressured them not to play against Pakistan and later left them in diplomatic limbo post-defeat.
Despite earlier hesitation and calls from the Indian federation to ban Pakistan for five years, the match proceeded under limited coverage as per India’s request. But there was no hiding the result.
The Pakistani players erupted in celebration, raising chants of “Long Live Pakistan” and “Long Live the Pak Army,” dedicating their win to the nation and offering prayers for the country’s armed forces.
With this emphatic win, Pakistan has officially qualified for the quarterfinals, continuing their strong run in the championship and sending a clear message — both on and off the sand.
