A dead turtle was found along the Juddi coastal area of Pasni, raising fresh concerns among environmental experts over the increasing deaths of marine wildlife along Pakistan’s Makran coast,24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

The latest discovery marked the first reported turtle death in May, according to local sources.

Environmentalists said turtle deaths have been steadily increasing in the coastal regions of Gwadar and Pasni, where dozens of turtles have reportedly been found dead since the start of the year.

Marine expert Zareef Baloch described the situation as alarming, warning that the continued deaths of turtles could seriously threaten marine ecosystems if immediate steps are not taken.

He said the Makran coastal belt was once considered a safe habitat for turtles, but the growing number of deaths has become a matter of serious concern for conservationists and local communities.

Experts have called for a formal investigation into the causes behind the deaths to determine whether pollution, fishing activity, climate factors, or other environmental threats are responsible.

They warned that failure to address the issue in time could lead to severe damage to marine life in the region.
