A man and his two sons were critically injured when more than 20 Afghan nationals attacked them with knives, sticks, and brick kins in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The incident took place in the Shafiqabad area of Lahore. Soon after receiving the report, local police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Mayo Hospital in Lahore.

Police said that all the Afghan nationals had escaped from the scene after the attack. Police said that all the accused will be apprehended soon.

It is necessary to mention here that Punjab has launched a major crackdown on illegal Afghan residents, offering a Rs10,000 reward to citizens who report undocumented individuals. The operation targets those living without papers, using fake CNICs, or running businesses illegally.

Police have confirmed that informers’ identities will remain fully confidential. Action will also be taken against landlords and shopkeepers who rent out property to Afghan nationals without proper documents.

Officials say arrests of Afghan citizens have risen sharply, with thousands detained or deported for lacking legal status. The reward scheme aims to speed up and strengthen the operation.
