A man in Lahore was arrested and booked Monday for selling oil extracted from a spiny-tailed lizard, commonly known as sanda oil, under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1890, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The accused was identified as Aslam, and he was selling sanda oil in Nishtar Colony.
The case against him was registered on the complaint of a lady traffic warden.
Police recovered one lizard alive and another dead from his possession.
The police handed over the dead and alive lizards to the Wildlife Department.
After 134 years, this is the second case registered under the Animals Act.
It is to be noted here that sanda oil is considered to be miraculous by many for enhancing men’s sexual performance.
