Workshop on contact lenses and vision care held in Mayo Hospital

The College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences (COAVS) in Lahore took a significant step in advancing the field of vision care by organizing a pre-conference workshop in conjunction with the 4th International Conference on Rehabilitation Sciences and the inaugural 1st International Conference on Allied Health Sciences.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the workshop brought together vision care professionals and experts to address critical issues, with a special focus on contact lenses.

A notable international guest at the workshop was Dr. Nicole Karant, an Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Dr. Karant shared her expertise in the realm of contact lenses, delivering an enlightening lecture on their use, care, and potential risks.

One of the primary objectives of Dr. Karant's lecture was to raise awareness among workshop participants about the proper use of contact lenses and the potential infections associated with them.

The event was a collaborative effort between the College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences Lahore and the Society of Optometry, Orthoptics, and Investigation Ophthalmology (SOOOP) Pakistan, in partnership with Raphah University.

 

Distinguished figures present at the workshop included Prof. Dr. Muhammad Moin, Principal of COAVS, along with Prof. Dr. Asad Aslam Khan, Prof. Dr. Syed Raza Ali Shah, Prof. Dr. Ali Ayaz Sadiq, Dr. Ashal Kaiser Paul, Dr. Shaheer Ahmed, Staff Officer Hammad Hassan Farid, President Ayesha Saleem, General Secretary Agha Saad Khan, Ms. Ayesha Sarfraz, and other SOOOP members.

Prof. Muhammad Moin, the Principal of the College of Ophthalmology, commended the organizers and participants for the successful execution of this educational endeavor.

Dr. Asad Aslam Khan, in his address, encouraged both male and female students and graduates to approach their duties with unwavering honesty and integrity.
