Another Pakistan Army officer was martyred while seven Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed in a fierce gunbattle fought in Dera Ismail Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to an ISPR statement released on Thursday, on 8 October 2025, the security forces personnel conducted an intelligence-based operation in general area Daraban in Dera Ismail Khan District, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al-Khwarij.
During the conduct of the operation, due to effective engagement by own troops seven Indian-sponsored Khwarij terrorists were sent to hell.
However, during the intense fire exchange, Major Sibtain Haider (age: 30 years, resident of District Quetta), a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat (martyrdom).
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and law enforcement agencies as well as killing of innocent civilians.
Sanitization operation was being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave sons further strengthen our resolve.
A day earlier in a fierce gunbattle in Orakzai District, 11 Pakistani Army soldiers including a lieutenant colonel and a major were martyred and 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation.
Funeral prayers offered
Funeral prayers of Major Sibtain Haider Shaheed was offered at Chaklala Garrison in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Information Minister, military and civil officers and public attended the funeral, said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The Prime Minister while paying tribute to Major Sibtain Haider Shaheed, resolved that “Fitna al-Khawarij or any group with perverted ideologies will not be allowed to succeed. The blood of our martyrs strengthens our commitment to defeat every agent of chaos and safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty”.
Shaheed will be laid to rest in his native town with full military honour.
President, PM laud security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended successful operation by security forces against terrorists in Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan.
In their separate statements today, the President paid tribute to Major Sibtain Haider, who embraced martyrdom thwarting the enemy's nefarious designs during the operation.
They expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the martyred officer.
The President said fate of Fitna Al Khawarij operating under Indian patronage will always be disgraceful.
He reaffirmed the firm commitment to wipe out terrorism.
The Prime Minister said nation is proud of the courageous officers and soldiers of armed forces. He expressed the unwavering commitment to completely eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.

Naqvi pays tribute to Major Sibtain
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute in powerful words to Major Sibtain Haider, who martyred fighting bravely against Indian-sponsored terrorists in the Dharaban area of Dera Ismail Khan.
In his message, Mohsin Naqvi said that Martyr Major Sibtain Haider bravely killed 7 Indian-sponsored terrorists.
Mohsin Naqvi said Major Sibtain Haider sacrificed his life to thwart the nefarious intentions of Indian-sponsored terrorists.
Martyr Major Sibtain Haider wrote the history of bravery and courage with his blood, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said the nation is proud of brave sons like Martyr Major Sibtain Haider.
The nation salutes the bravery and manliness of Martyr Major Sibtain Haider, Mohsin Naqvi said.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of Martyr Major Sibtain.
Cop martyred in terrorist attack
The funeral prayers of Police Post In-Charge Ahmad Nawaz, who embraced martyrdom during a terrorist attack on the Khutti Check Post of Dera Town Police Station, was offered with official honours at the Ijaz Shaheed Police Lines in DI Khan on Thursday.
Unidentified terrorists launched an attack on the Khutti Check Post late Wednesday night. The police personnel present at the post bravely retaliated, successfully repelling the assault and foiling the nefarious designs of the terrorists. During the exchange of fire, In-Charge Ahmad Nawaz fought valiantly and embraced martyrdom while defending the post.
His funeral prayer was attended by Regional Police Officer Dera Syed Ashfaq Anwar, District Police Officer Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmad, SPs of CTD, Investigation, City, and Headquarters, officers of security forces, police officials, and the family members of the martyr.
A smartly turned-out contingent of police presented a salute to the martyred officer, while participants laid floral wreaths on the coffin and offered prayers for the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter.
The police officials paid glowing tributes to the courage and sacrifice of the martyr, reaffirming their resolve to continue the fight against terrorism with full determination.
Bomb explodes on Dera Murad Jamali railway bridge
A bomb was exploded at Pit Feeder Bridge Railway Gate in Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan.
According to police, as a result of explosion, Railway Bridge partially damaged.
However, after explosion security forces cordoned off the area.
