Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) was imposed a heavy fine for making poor arrangements to prevent electrocution incidents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
National Electricity and Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) imposed Rs10 million fine on LESCO for failure to earth transmission lines and poles.
LESCO filed appeal against NEPRA's decision to impose fine but NEPRA rejected LESCO's review petition and upholds heavy fine.
NEPRA had directed LESCO to earth LT and HT lines.
Along with power lines, it was also directed to earth power poles.
LESCO did not earth poles and power lines in light of NEPRA's instructions.
NEPRA teams also visited different areas of LESCO and the heavy fine was imposed when violation of safety rules proved during visit.
