A man landed in lockup on Tuesday, allegedly, for playing Noor Jahan’s hit Punjabi song Jhanjar Di Pawaan Chhankar at high volume, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to police, the accused, Danish Jutt, was playing music at an excessively high volume, thereby violating the Punjab Sound System Act.
The law prohibits the misuse of loudspeakers and sound systems in public spaces.
Police registered the case on their own behalf and arrested the accused. Further investigations are underway.
