The controversy surrounding Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N Punjab MPA Saqib Chadhar has taken another dramatic turn as Momina’s sister, Rimsha Iqbal, has come forward with fresh claims.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Rimsha, who is also part of Momina’s legal team, questioned the evidence presented by Saqib during his media appearances. She said the family had already submitted its relevant points and evidence before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) but had remained legally restricted from publicly discussing certain material.
Responding to claims that Momina’s family demanded a large amount of money to settle the dispute, Rimsha strongly denied the allegation. She said there was no demand for a financial settlement and challenged Saqib and his legal team to present evidence or records supporting the claim. According to her, the only matter discussed was an official apology, after which the family was willing to withdraw the legal case.
Rimsha also addressed the documents that Saqib had presented during a programmed, questioning what she described as photocopies being shown as evidence. She argued that simply displaying papers during a media appearance did not establish what they actually proved and said the family was now responding because questions about the case were repeatedly being raised publicly.
She further alleged that Saqib had contacted people associated with Momina’s professional work, including makeup artists and producers, and asked them not to give her work. Rimsha claimed that several people were willing to come forward and speak about what she described as harassment faced by the actress. These allegations were presented by Rimsha during the press conference and remain disputed.
Rimsha also said she planned to release recordings of alleged comments, messages and other material connected to the dispute. She claimed that such material would provide further context about the interactions between the parties, while saying the family had already submitted what it described as verified digital evidence to the relevant authorities.
Addressing another claim concerning her time in Australia, Rimsha rejected the suggestion that her overseas education or work was financially dependent on Saqib. She said her family had supported her studies and challenged him to provide evidence of any company or business connection he claimed to have with her work in Australia.
Momina’s husband, Hamza Habib, also spoke about the dispute during the press conference. According to the family’s account, he claimed that Saqib had approached him before his Nikah with Momina and made allegations about her character.
The family further alleged that a police case was later initiated against Hamza and raised questions about the absence of Call Data Records in the proceedings. These claims were made by the family and have not been independently established in the supplied material.
