Lahore is not willing to leave its spot as the number one polluted city in the world ranking making citizens bewildered why the administration is still unsuccessful to rid the city of engulfing choking smog, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The air quality level of the Raiwind area of Lahore was the worst. Besides Lahore, Bahawalpur and Muridke were also blanketed in smog.

Due to the administration’s apathy which is not taking any solid measures to control the air pollution, the rising smog is seriously affecting people’s health and they are suffering from throat, skin and eye diseases.

Punjab is not only hit by smog, its plain areas are also engulfed by fog.

In the morning, the administration shut M3 from Faizabad Lahore to Samundri, M1 from Lahore to Sialkot and M2 from Lahore to Sheikhupura due to thick fog.

However, the motorway police have opened M1 from Lahore to Sialkot after improvement in the visibility when the fog started lifting. The M2 was also opened after the fog situation became better.
