PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday said he felt that the PTI government wanted to kill former president Asif Ali Zardari and vowed not to make any compromise on the 18th Amendment no matter what the threats were.

Convict him if the case is genuine, challenged Bilawal as he cited the accountability court’s orders passed a day earlier, directing Zardari to appear in person amid the coronavirus pandemic despite his health issues.

Imran Khan doesn’t have any mandate and everything would come to end if the use of force is stopped, Bilawal said, adding that they do not dance to the tune of the umpire or the finger.

He remarked that the selected and illegal government had no authority to rule the country. The PTI was turning every crisis into a catastrophe, Bilawal added while citing the examples of the coronavirus pandemic and the locust attack.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PPP chairman said Prime Minister Imran had not given any clarification about his statement in which he had declared Osama bin Laden a martyr.

He reminded the prime minister about his earlier assertion in the US that Osama was eliminated with the assistance of ISI and asked to explain what his position was on the issue.

If Osama is a martyr then what the APS students were, questioned Bilawal and added that the statement about Osama had damaged Pakistan across the world.

The PPP chairman said there were no mafias in the country, they were the frontmen of PTI and cited the recent raise in the POL prices and the earlier sugar scam.

With reference to the process adopted to increase the POL prices, he said how a minister could issue a notification, which he described as illegal, on the subject. It is billions of rupees robbery, Bilawal remarked.

The sugar commission is itself a mafia which saved Jahangir Tareen, Asad Umar and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Preparations were being made to privatise the PIA and Pakistan Steel Mills to benefit the close associates, said Bilawal.

About the issue of “dubious” pilots, he said those in government did even know that the licences were renewed after every six months and that too when they passed the required flying and written tests.

He again challenged Imran for debate and added that “our brave prime minister” was not ready to speak in their presence. Imran is the prime minister of PTI’s Twitter and Facebook, he isn’t ready to be the entire country’s prime minister, Bilawal added.

Describing Buzdar as trainee chief minister, Bilawal remarked that he was in quarantine for the last two years.

He said the worst possible rigging was seen during the polling on the no-confidence motion against the Senate chairman. “What kind of threats were no given to the senators,” Bilawal reminded the media persons.

“Decisions should not be made there towards which you are pointing. Decisions must be made in the Parliament,” he told a reporter in response to a question.
