The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has become the first provincial revenue authority in the history of Pakistan to cross the figure of Rs150 billion in tax collection, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

As per the official sources, the PRA collected Rs153 billion in sales tax on services during the first 11 months of the financial year 2021-22.

During the month of May 2022, the PRA collected Rs14.22 billion in sales tax on services which is 23 per cent higher than that of May 2021 when the tax collection was at Rs11.06 billion.

The PRA officials said that the revenue figures were expected to increase after finalisation of civil accounts, adding that the Rs155.09 billion annual target would easily be achieved.

“The PRA’s performance is a result of stakeholders’ trust and teamwork,” said PRA chairman Zainul Abideen Sahi.
