PM meets PTI, allied parties lawmakers ahead of Senate elections

Prime Minister Imran Khan met with a number of MNAs from ruling PTI and allied parties to take them into confidence about government nominee Abdul Hafeez Sheikh from Islamabad general seat ahead of the Senate Elections 2021, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on reaching the parliament house was briefed by the legal team on the Supreme Court of Pakistan opinion about the Presidential Reference.

The TV channel reported that the PM will meet with lawmakers from the ruling PTI and allied parties and also issue necessary directions to them. 

Imran Khan is taking MNAs from his party and allied parties into confidence about the government’s candidate from Islamabad general seat—Abdul Hafeez Sheikh—against whom former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani is contesting.    

Meanwhile, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar met separately. The PM directed both to resolve the grievances of the lawmakers. 

Members of National Assembly Gul Dad Khan, Gul Zafar Khan, Jawad Hussain, Muhammad Iqbal Afridi and Sajid Khan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at Parliament House. 

On the occasion, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, Religious Affairs Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri and Special Assistant Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar were also present. Separately, MNA Noor Alam Khan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at Parliament House. 

Separately, women legislators from the National Assembly including Azmi Riaz, Zill-e-uma, Nafisa Khattak and Shandana Gulzar at Parliament House.

MNA Dr Ali Haider also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
