Summary sent to Cabinet Division for approval of Minorities Commission

The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Thursday sent a summary to the Cabinet Division for approval of a 17-member minorities commission.

A minority member will head the commission, which will have three representatives from the Hindu community, two each from the Christian and Sikh communities and one each from Parsi and Kalash communities. Head of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Qibla Ayaz, Imam of Badshahi Mosque Abu-ul Khabeer Azad and Mufti Gulzar Ahmad Naeemi will be members of the 17-member commission. One representative each from the Ministry of Hajj, Interior Ministry, Law Ministry, Human Rights Ministry and Education Ministry will also be part of the commission.
