SC to take up its suo motu notice on coronavirus issue

The Supreme Court will take up its suo motu notice about the worsening coronavirus situation on May 5, issuing notices to the concerned federal and provincial authorities on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A five-member larger bench has also been constituted to take up the case. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmad will lead the bench in which four other judges are included.

Justice Musheer Alam, Justice Umar Atta Bandial, Justice Ejazul Hassan, and Justice Mazhar Alam would also be a part of the larger bench of the apex court.

The apex court taking up the notice of the coronavirus situation across the country, has issued the notice to Attorney General Pakistan, Federal Secretary for Health, Federal Interior Secretary, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), all four provincial advocate generals and other stakeholders.
