Another 93 Pakistanis evacuated from Sudan reach Islamabad

A new batch of 93 Pakistanis evacuated from war-torn Sudan has reached Islamabad today, the ministry of foreign affairs said on Monday.
In its tweet, the foreign ministry said: “93 stranded Pakistani nationals in Sudan arrived at Islamabad International Airport via PK754 today.”

The ministry further extended its gratitude to the government of Saudi Arabia for its support and help in evacuating the Pakistanis who were stranded in Sudan.
The FO further wrote in its tweet: “We are grateful to the brotherly country of Saudi Arabia for their support and assistance to Pakistanis in distress in this difficult time.”

A PIA flight carrying 93 Pakistanis reached Islamabad today.
Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi and Adviser to Prime Minister, Amir Muqam, received them at the airport.
PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafiz Khan said Pakistanis are being evacuated from Sudan via Riyadh and Jeddah.
Meanwhile, the FO in a statement said that 636 stranded Pakistanis have returned home via Jeddah on five special flights to date.
“Alhamdulillah, in the next 24-48 hours, all of the nearly 1,000 Pakistanis will be evacuated from Sudan,” the foreign office spokesperson said.
