Punjab CM Maryam inaugurates field hospitals

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated newly-established field hospitals in Lahore on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In her speech after inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that they are providing medical facilities at people's doorsteps in just six weeks. These field hospitals are equipped with all necessary facilities, she added.

Maryam said field hospitals will go to remote areas and provide services where no health facilities are available.

She also announced that the Punjab government is planning to establish 200 clinics-on-wheels for major cities. She announced that the Punjab government is going to start the province's first air ambulance service within two weeks.

The CM said that Khawaja Imran Nazir, Khawaja Salman Rafique and Secretary Health Ali Jan worked day and night for the completion of the project.

Commending services, Maryam Nawaz directed Secretary Health Ali Jan to sit on her seat. She said that Minister Sohaib Bharat and Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf also did excellent work.

“It was a dream that was about to come true”, Maryam Nawaz said and added doctors, medical staff and facility of laboratory tests will be available in the field hospitals.

The Chief Minister said that doctor consultation, maternal and child examination, ultrasound, X-ray, ECG, medication supply and first aid facility will be available in these hospitals.

Field hospitals are built in a large container equipped with adequate medical facilities, the CM added.

Maryam Nawaz said tat doctors will also be present at the field hospital for examination of the mother and child and consultation in other matters.

A mini laboratory has also been set up in the field hospital for quick tests and reports, said the CM.

Field hospitals will be able to provide free medicines as well as first aid, he Chief Minister concluded.
