Indian fans termed Indian Premier League (IPL) and BCCI’s too much arrogance as reasons behind India’s failure to win international matches. This was India's second successive loss in the tournament.

Indian fans blamed IPL, considered the richest cricket league in the world, for the failure of the Indian team led by Virat Kohli.

One UK-accent Indian fan commented, “Something you learn from today. This happened you become arrogant. First of all BCCI and secondly IPL—calm down and you are not the God—this is reality. You are not playing for the IPL. You are playing for your country. Put it in your mind. You can be the richest board in the world. Bullshit this is.”

The Virat Kohli-led side started the tournament as favourites but has not lived up to the wishes and hopes of the Indian fans.

"I don't think we were brave enough with bat or ball. We were not brave enough with our body language," Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

India were restricted to a below-par 110 for seven after being sent in to bat with the likes of Trent Boult, Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner sharing the spoils with the ball.

"We didn't have much to defend but we weren't brave when we walked out to field."
