Asim Bajwa announces 250 new jobs in Orange Line Train of Lahore

Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA) and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday said that 250 new jobs of various categories for the Orange Line Metro Train of Lahore have been announced.

Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) is an automated rapid transit system in Lahore having 27.1 km (16.8 mi) with 25.4 km (15.8 mi) elevated and 1.72 km (1.1 mi) underground track. The line has 26 stations and is expected to handle 250,000 passengers daily. 

It is a part of the CPEC China Pakistan Economic Corridor. The Orange line was financed by both the Pakistan government, and the Chinese government. The train’s commercial operations have not yet operationalized and it may take some time.

Earlier he said that 1100 plus Jobs of various categories opened for a recently started CPEC Project by Shanghai Electric at Thar Block-1. “Locals to get preference subject to criteria/qualification and please apply on sites/addresses as on the flyer attached,” he further said in a Twitter post.
