In its written order in a suo motu notice of the harassment of journalists, the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday summoned the FIA DG, PEMRA chairman, Islamabad IGP, and Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) on the next date of hearing in their personal capacity, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The order said that a three-member bench had been constituted which would look into the status of freedom of the press and fundamental human rights in the country.

The court also ordered the production of all records of the cases registered against journalists, filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The order further read that the apex court would take up the case for hearing on September 13, and not on September 15, due to the non-availability of Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
