A heart-wrenching video of a flood-hit girl child, scratching the inside of an empty pot with her fingers and then licking them to kill her hunger, in Warah tehsil of Sindh’s Qambar district went viral on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

It has been learnt that people and their children in flood-hit areas are starving owing to the disruption of proper food supply to them. After catastrophic monsoon rains, hardly any stable buildings are left for shelter and the wheat silos are empty.

In the video, that had been made available to 24NewsHD TV channel, a two-year-old girl child can be seen sitting on the ground with a pot in her lap.

The girl desperately scratches repeatedly the inside of the empty utensil with her fingers and then licks them to find any food particles left inside in order to get some respite from hunger.

The poor child and her pot were all littered with flies.

It also merits a mention here that aid and relief items from across the world are arriving in Pakistan for the flood-hit victims.

They, however, are yet to reach their destination.
