The federal government has filed an intra-court appeal to challenge the single bench verdict of the Lahore High Court (LHC) to make public the record of Toshakhana from 1990 to 2001 and the names of those who gave gifts from 1990 to March 23, 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
A two-member bench of the LHC will hear the intra-court appeal, and the additional attorney general will appear in the court on behalf of the federal government.
“From 1990 to 2001, there are no certified records. If the records are not certified, they cannot be verified or made public,” the federal government stated in the appeal.
“The LHC single bench ordered to make public names of the gift givers from 1990 to 2023. Making names of the gift givers public will affect foreign policy. Also, it is not in accordance with the legal requirements of the decision,” it added.
“The decision of the single bench to make public the names of the gift givers should be nullified,” it pleaded.
