After approval from the Sindh inspector general of police (IGP), 60 checkposts have been established and 480 policemen deployed in the Katcha area of Ubauro for an operation against dacoits, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
After the start of an operation against dacoits in the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan, police have decided to tighten the noose around dacoits in Rawanti Kacha near Sindh River.
Special commandos and Rapid Response Force with sophisticated weapons and modern armoured vehicles have arrived in the area.
The Sindh IGP will visit Rawanti Kacha tomorrow. Police have also arranged to monitor the operation through modern technology.
It is to be noted here that an alleged gangster was killed while his six accomplices and a policeman were injured after Punjab police launched a grand operation against dacoits in the Katcha area of the Indus near the Sindh border on Sunday.
Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar said that an intelligence-based operation against the outlaws had already been in progress for the last few months after a rise in the cases of kidnap-for-ransom.
He added that the grand operation had been launched in the early hours of Sunday on the reports of a premiere intelligence agency of the country and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab.
