A missing stretch of safety fencing on the M-2 Motorway proved deadly on Sunday when a buffalo wandered onto the road and collided with a car, killing one passenger and critically injuring another.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the high-speed crash occurred near Pindi Bhattian, causing the car to overturn. The buffalo was also killed on the spot.
According to locals, sections of the motorway’s protective fencing have been stolen in multiple areas, leading to a sharp rise in accidents.
The victims were reportedly travelling from Lahore to Islamabad at the time of the crash.
