Rain, coupled with a cool breeze, in and around Lahore on Saturday afternoon and later at night, turned the weather pleasant, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Rain was reported from different localities of the city, including Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, Barkat Market, Canal Road and Muslim Town.
The Met Office said that the maximum temperature in the city on Sunday would be recorded at 36 degrees Celsius, while a breeze will blow at the speed of six kilometers per hour.
It also predicted that the humidity level in the city could go up to 87 per cent.
Similarly, rain was also reported from other Punjab cities.
Rain forecast for upper parts of country
On the other hand, the Met Office said that hot and extremely humid weather was expected in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
However, it predicted that thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds, were expected at a few places in north-east Punjab, Islamabad, Potohar belt of the Punjab, northern KP, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas during the aforementioned period.
The Met Office said that the weather remained hot and extremely humid in most areas of the country during the last 24 hours.
However, it rained in north-east Punjab, Islamabad, Potohar region and Kashmir.
The highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Lahore’s city area where it was recorded at 23 millimeters.
It was recorded at seven millimeters at the airport; 12 millimeters at Shamsabad in Rawalpindi; nine millimeters in Attock, three at Zero Point in Islamabad; Jhelum three millimeters, Gujrat two millimeters while one millimeter in Rawalakot in Kashmir.
Nokundi and Dalbandin remained the hottest places in the country where the daytime temperature shot up to 44 degrees Celsius.
It was recorded at 43 degrees Celsius in Chilas, while 42 degrees Celsius in Bhakkar, Sibbi and Dadu.
