Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz holds detailed meeting with Chinese Minister of Ecology and Environment, Huang Rinqiu, seeks cooperation

Punjab government has decided to join hands with government of China to work together for environmental improvement, biodiversity, smog reduction, protection and development of wildlife and afforestation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz arrived Ministry of Environment of China and held detailed meeting with Chinese Minister of Ecology and Environment, Huang Rinqiu. During the meeting, both sides have decided to form 'Beijing Punjab Clean Air' Joint Working Group. 

Punjab Chief Minister and China's Environment Minister Huang Rinchiuka agreed during their meeting that an advanced air quality management system will be built in Punjab with the cooperation of China. According to the decision, exchange of environmental sciences, policy coordination, capacity building, data monitoring and sharing, green urban planning, technology transfer will be shared with Punjab government. China will also help Punjab province in developing environment-friendly energy and transport system. 

Punjab will utilize China's experience and expertise for e-transport system in the province. China will also help Punjab in developing agricultural sector, teaching eco-friendly machinery and agricultural methods. China will also help Punjab province in terms of hydropower and efficient use of water. China's Environment Minister appreciated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's efforts to prevent smog and improve the environment in Punjab.

Minister of Ecology and Environment briefed Chief Minister about environmental protection and ecosystem protection. A detailed discussion was made regarding biodiversity and wildlife conservation, and plantation projects in Punjab.
