QAU Alumni honours first computer scientist from its inaugural batch

The Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Alumni Founders Group honoured Jameel Rasheed, the first computer science graduate and scientist from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad (Class of 1977), at a distinguished ceremony held at Preston University in Islamabad

Jameel Rasheed Sahib, a trailblazer in Pakistan’s computer science history, has had a remarkable career, holding leadership roles in numerous multinational and national organizations.

Currently based in Canada, he continues to contribute to the global tech community. Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the first elected president of Quaidians Sindh in 1991, reflecting his enduring commitment to alumni networking and community building.

The event brought together esteemed alumni of Quaid-i-Azam University, celebrating not only Mr Rasheed’s extraordinary achievements but also the shared legacy of the institution. Attendees enjoyed a memorable evening of camaraderie, nostalgia, and productive discussions about the alumni network's future.

Dr Abdul Basit President QAU Alumni Association Founders Group welcomed the participants and extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their vibrant presence, which added immense value to the occasion.

The participants appreciated the decades long contribution of QAU alumni towards their alma mater and vowed to contribute meaningfully and positively both at individual and collective levels.
