Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has banned male teachers from teaching female students of high and higher secondary classes in schools, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The decision has been taken for partner schools under Punjab Education Foundation.
PEF expressed anger over appointment of male teachers in girls' schools and directed partner schools to immediately remove male teachers.
In a letter, PEF wrote that deployment of male teachers is increasing problems for girls.
Schools were directed that only female teachers should be appointed in girls' schools.
PEF authorities warned partner schools that strict action will be taken against schools teaching through male teachers.
School administration should ensure strict implementation of the policy, PEF directed.
PEF authorities said that the decision was taken keeping in mind the better educational environment of the students.
