The Pakistan Stock Exchange traded over a billion shares on Wednesday, the first time after 16 years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In February 2005, the stock exchange made a record by trading one billion and 80 million shares.
However, this sudden burst in trading could not encourage the KSE-100 index to perform will as it closed the day on 46644, down 30 points.
The worth of Wednesday’s business was Rs27.25 billion.
