Waging a digital war against corruption, the Sindh government on Tuesday announced the enforcement of E-Pak Acquisition System so that public money could be spent on them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The decision was taken at the 46 meeting of the Sindh Public Procurement Regulatory Authority’s (SPPRA) Board of Directors held under the chairmanship of provincial Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the violation of procurement rules would not be tolerated.
He further said that only a transparent, effective and accountable procurement system was the basis of good governance.
Lanjar said that regulating all stages of procurement according to rules and regulations was a top priority for the provincial government.
He expressed the hope that e-procurement and digital reforms would reduce chances of corruption and increase transparency.
It was decided to hire the services of a legal expert to settle legal matters.
It was also decided to hold the Board’s meeting every three months.
