Three notorious dacoits were killed and four were arrested during five police encounters in different areas of Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The first police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Ladhaywala Warriach Police Station in which two dacoits were died by the firing of their accomplices.
Police said that these dacoits were involved in serious criminal cases including police encounter, snatching, robbery and attempted murder.
The dead dacoits were later identified as Hamza Khan and Iftikhar Ahmad Police said that both dacoits were trying to escape after committing a robbery.
Their two accomplices escaped from the scene.
The second police encounter occurred in the jurisdiction of Titlay Aali Police Station in which one dacoit Ali Raza was died by the firing of his own colleagues and his three other accomplices flee from the scene. Police said that Ali Raza was involved in some serious criminal cases.
In another police encounter in Dhalayke Police Station police arrested a notorious accused Danish alias Thusa who is involved in police encounters, snatching and robbery.
Police recovered motorcycle and illegal arms from his possession.
The fourth police encounter took place in People’s Colony in which two dacoits were arrested in injured condition after they were collided with an electric pole.
Another police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Alipur Chattha Police Station during which one accused Amanat Ali was arrested in injured condition.
Police recovered 1500 grams of hashish from his possession.
CPO Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan took notice of the incident and summoned detailed report in this regard.
He also constituted different police teams under the supervision of DSPs. CPO Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan said that crackdown against criminals will continue with full force.
