Farmers forced to buy water on higher rates as most canals in Lodhran not received water from last six months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
One farmer said that in most areas, groundwater is bitter, causing crop damage. The farmers demanded to Punjab Irrigation Department to release water to Lodhran canals on priority basis.
On the other hand, Irrigation officials said that canals cleaning process will be completed soon and the water will be released for the crops.
