Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced to establish cardiac catheterization labs in every district of the province Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, Maryam Nawaz said the facility of angiography, angioplasty and primary PCI will also be available in the catheter lab.
She said the life of the patient who reaches the hospital within 60 to 90 minutes will be saved.
Steps have been initiated to appoint interventional cardiologists and trained staff in the District Cardiology Center, Maryam Nawaz said.
Maryam Nawaz announced that catheter labs will be made functional in Bhakkar, Chakwal, Hafizabad, Khanewal, Mandi Bahauddin, Rajanpur and Tob-e-Tek Singh in Phase II.
She said the state-of-the-art cardiac catheter lab to be established in every district will provide the best treatment for heart diseases according to international SOPs.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in case of a heart emergency, it will be possible to save the life of the patient if they reach the district cardiology center within 90 minutes.
During a heart emergency, patients will not have to go to distant big cities, Maryam Nawaz said.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has appointed specialists and Instructions to ensure the appointment of cardiac doctors.
Special pay package to doctors performing duties in district cardiac catheter lab will be given, Maryam Nawaz said.
Treatment in the latest catheter lab will also make it possible to prevent complications from heart diseases, said Maryam Nawaz.
She said establishment of catheter lab at the district level will improve the healthcare system and reduce the rush of patients in big hospitals.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said who would have thought that catheter labs would be established in DHQ hospitals and heart diseases would be treated.
Punjab government will definitely fulfill the promise of providing quality and best treatment facilities to every citizen of Punjab at their doorstep, said Maryam Nawaz.
