A high-level delegation of the Global Polio Oversight Board of the Polio Eradication Initiative visited Pakistan and met with senior officials of the polio eradication programme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The delegation was given a detailed briefing on the polio eradication efforts and recent progress in the country.
According to the National EOC, the delegation reiterated its full confidence and commitment to the Polio Eradication Programme Pakistan.
The delegation appreciated the effective leadership and strong commitment of the Government of Pakistan in the polio eradication efforts.
It was briefed that the next 6 months were considered decisive for the complete eradication of polio from Pakistan and around the world.
It was emphasized that along with polio eradication, the routine immunization system should be further strengthened.
Polio Oversight Board members also met with female frontline health workers.
