Veteran Pakistani actor Raju Jamil has recalled being so impressed by Hania Aamir's performance during a drama shoot of Anaa that he offered Rs1,000 as sadqah in appreciation of her talent.
Speaking in an interview, Raju shared that Hania delivered such a powerful scene that everyone on set was left captivated.
He said he took Rs1,000 from his pocket and passed it over her head after the take.
When the host referred to the gesture as warna (warding off the evil eye), Raju clarified that it was actually sadqah, a charitable act offered with good intentions and prayers for someone's well-being.
He added that he has a tradition of beginning productions with prayers and believes it is the responsibility of senior artists to encourage and support younger talent whenever they witness exceptional work.
Hania Aamir is one of Pakistan's most popular actresses, known for hit dramas including Mere Humsafar, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum and Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha.
She was recently among the celebrities who attended the opening of the YSL Beauty store in Lahore, where her appearance also attracted attention on social media.
On the other hand, Raju Jamil is a veteran Pakistani television actor and retired banker with a career spanning more than five decades.
Born as Zulqarnain Jamil Aali, he is the son of renowned poet Jamiluddin Aali.
He made his acting debut on PTV in 1967 and has since appeared in more than 210 television dramas and 55 single plays.
Alongside his successful acting career, he also spent around 40 years working at United Bank Limited (UBL), earning respect for balancing both professions.
He is known for his roles in dramas such as Anaa, Sarkar Sahab and Kambakht Dil.
