The Punjab government on Saturday decided that for the first time in the history of the event, there would be competitions of 54 sports in the summer games, 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It was decided at the meeting held to review arrangements for the games with Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi in the chair that there would be competitions of different games in the tournament, including cricket, hockey, football, shooting ball, athletics, snooker and badminton. 

It was concurred that a prize money of over Rs1 billion would be given to the winning teams and athletes.
