Videos, gone viral on social media, and also documented by the Afghan media, have shown that the Afghan Taliban opened straight fire at the people protesting against the arrests of female activists in Herat province a few days ago, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The firing resulted in the death of one person and injuries to over a dozen people and highlighted the fact that the Taliban do not tolerate dissent.
And in order to prevent tensions from escalating further, the Afghan government sent additional police contingents to the province.
It can be seen in the videos that the Afghan Police are searching citizens and harassing them.
On Tuesday, dozens of people belonging to human rights organizations, members of the European Parliament and the Afghan citizens assembled outside the building of the European Parliament in Spain and registered their protest against the possible visit of the Afghan Taliban delegation to Brussels.
According to an Afghan publication, Afghanistan International, the protestors said that the Taliban had made life for the Afghan women and girls miserable by denying them the right to education.
