The Punjab government approved Rs1 billion to meet expenditure incurred on security, cricket, and other administrative matters in the province, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The Punjab government also approved expenditure bills for the cricket series, Pakistan Super League (PSL), and tri-nations matches.
These amounts will be paid to the Pakistan Army and Rangers for providing security. The Punjab government also released funds to different districts for the boarding and launching of illegal Afghan nationals.
The Punjab government also approved funds to clear the bills of expenditure incurred during the bye-elections and Data Sahib Chehlum.
Total expenditure on security personnel since March has reached Rs 1.18 billion. The Punjab Home Department also sought clearance from Punjab for payment of outstanding dues.
Approval will also be granted for the release of funds to meet the expenditures of the next financial year.
